When this author posed the question to her Irish Granny, "If you were so poor why did you have ten children?" Granny Kiely replied, "To be certain, there was no poverty between the sheets!"
Her Irish father is the fourth of ten children, and her French Canadian mother the baby of twelve. Lively stories bounce back and forth between the two cultures in this conversational memoir full of gems. Spanning four generations, readers are treated to holidays in Ireland and camping adventures throughout Ontario. Family, friends, neighbors, dogs, and horses, all come to life in this witty family saga. The book documents the strong ties that bind generations together. Kiely's writing is honest, captivating, and this author brings a fresh new voice like no other.
